Buzkantz jaia

Buzkantza is a pudding of vegetables, and it was once said to be made to be brought as a gift to houses and farms, and there is also a proverb about it.
“Elorrioko buzkantza, zazpi libra eta bost ontza”
“Elorrio buzkantza, seven pounds and five ounces”
With the aim of recovering the habit of making these puddings and as a regular product in gastronomy, the first edition of the Buzkantz Jaia was held in 2014, and since then it has become a special feast for the Elorrio inhabitants.
This year’s Buzkantz Jaia will be held on Sunday, December 10th. However, on Saturday throughout the day several local bars have organized a pintxo tour so that we can taste their products.
Programme 2023:
Between 10:00 and 13:00 the tickets will be on sale at a stand in the square, for 8€, four pintxos and water or wine can be taken in the four gastronomic societies (Buskantz, Alkartu, Pitxar and Lagun toki).
The tasting will take place from 12:00 to 14:00, and participants will be able to vote for their favorite. The votes must be delivered to the Tourist Office before 14:15.
Meanwhile, throughout the morning there will be inflatables, globoflexia and photocalla for children.
The winner of the Pudding Tournament will be known on the 12th at 13:30 at the Iturri Cultural Center.
